Flute and Whistle Classes 2009

Irish Whistle I (Terri McCoy) – Students will learn basic fingering, some ornamentation, and some simple tunes. Focus will be on ear training, rhythm and phrasing.

Irish Whistle II (Linda Hickman) – For those of you who already play the tin whistle, this intermediate whistle class will emphasize lift and ornamentation, better finger dexterity and nice phrasing on a jig or reel. Attention will also be given to maintaining a nice even tone in the high register.

Irish Whistle III (Linda Hickman) – In this class for advanced whistle students, we will focus on breathing, tongueing, and phrasing on jigs, reels and hornpipes to create lift and drive and greater ease of playing. We will also work on ornamentation and variations on the tunes.

Irish Flute (Linda Hickman) – This class will accommodate all levels and will be tailored to the specific needs of the students.
