Alaska Traditional Music Camp - Classes 2009

Alaska Traditional Music Camp offers instruction for beginning to advanced students for a variety of traditional instruments and musical styles. Classes are labeled I, II or III to indicate their level of difficulty. For example, if you’ve been playing classical violin music for a while, but are interested in the bluegrass or oldtime music, try the level II fiddle classes. Students are encouraged to record the tunes taught in each class for personal practice later. Emphasis is learning tunes by ear. Though four periods of instruction are offered daily, many students find one or two classes provide plenty of new information to work on, while leaving time practice.
